Eligibility Requirements
- Foreigners wishing to study language who have graduated from high school or have a higher level of education (including current students in high school for foreign language training), those who are scheduled to enter or are currently enrolled in educational institutions below high school, foreigners eligible for corporate customized internships (including outstanding university students and professionals from local corporations), those who meet the requirements for Korean cuisine training, and trainees from excellent private educational institutions, among others, who meet the specific requirements.
- Educational activities, training, or research conducted at educational institutions or organizations other than those qualifying for study abroad (D-2) or academic research institutions. This includes Korean and foreign language training at university-affiliated language institutes, technical and vocational training at national and public research institutions, internships (practical training) at foreign-invested companies, domestic internships for talents trained by our companies going overseas, international students at educational institutions below high school, Korean cuisine training, and training at excellent private educational institutions.

Exceptions & Special Conditions
- Language training for nationals of Cuba, Syria, Macedonia, and Kosovo.Visa issuance is granted solely based on the Certificate of Visa Issuance.
- Language trainees from Mongolia, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, and China (general universities/secondary universities)Visa issuance is granted solely based on the certificate of visa issuance approval.
- Customized Internship for Enterprises (D-4-2K)Issuance is only possible with a visa issuance confirmation, and a change of domestic residence status is not permitted.
- Six months have passed since obtaining the qualification for language training (D-4-1).Activities outside of the residence status are permitted.
- High School Dormitory Resident (D-4-3)Exemption from Guardian Requirement
Procedures
Application for extension after preparing the required documents for each training program (attendance, grades, and financial requirements must be met).
Principally permitted only for long-term stay registered foreigners, with restrictions for short-term stayers and certain qualifications (such as G-1, etc.).
In principle, it is not applicable (the qualification for non-profit purposes must be reported when changing the affiliated organization).
